Golden Oreo's with Chocolate Creme filling

Golden Oreo's with Chocolate Creme fillingSCORE: 3/5 - grab a bag if you can, but don't wake up in the middle of the night for 'em.

I finally got a chance to pick up the Golden Oreo with Chocolate creme. I went to the store and bought a box, got home, and poured myself a glass of cold milk. The taste test is ready to begin....

It's a pretty good cookie. It's an oreo cookie, but tastes very different. The Golden oreo cookie has a very strong taste of butter. Both a good and bad thing. The butter flavor is the first thing to hit your tongue. Ack! But then it becomes a soothing kind of buttery taste. Within a few seconds of chewing you'll taste the chocolate creme. That chocolate creme makes it all worth while.

Unfortunately, I've found the buttery taste of the cookie to be too rich for me to enjoy too many of these cookies in one seating. I can drink a glass of milk and enjoy 3, maybe 4 cookies, but not many more. That's probably a good thing. Then again, I generally don't eat more than a few cookies at any one time, but this buttery cookie forces me to eat only a few. Whereas other Oreo cookies can potentially be consumed in vast quanities, this buttery cookies gives a self-imposed quantity limit :)

As a tiny side note, and possibly a word of caution, do not leave your Golden oreo cookies on top of a piece of paper that you wish to keep. The cookie's butter quickly seeps into the paper and leaves a butter stain. Ewww!

Dulce de Leche

SCORE: 4/5 - worth paying the extra money online to grab an old bag. They've stopped making them, so get a bag while you can!

Mmmmm... dulce de leche. Yes, Oreo has offered (in the past) a limited edition oreo cookie of the dulce de leche flavor. Here's the thing: it tastes like a burnt, bad version of dulce de leche. HOWEVER, if you imagine that you are eating/drinking a Starbuck's caramel frappuccino, then it's amazing! Yes, this cookie is best eaten with a different product in mind. As soon as I made this realization, I ran out and bought several boxes.

Unfortunately, I've eaten all of my Dulce de Leche Oreo cookies :( I even went onto eBay and did a search for them. Some people are selling them, but they've nearly tripled the retail price... outrageous! They should be ashamed of themselves for trying to ransom Oreo cookies! Hmm...that gives me an idea...maybe I'll buy in bulk the next time a limited edition Oreo is good, and then try making some money on eBay. No, I can't bring myself to do it. I won't try to make money off of other's good taste. When I do find the next great Oreo cookie, I'll be sure to write a review here so that all of you out there know to go grab a box/bag.

I hope you happen to get a box of dulce de leche. They're great! (...think about starbucks)

Strawberry Milkshake

SCORE: 2.5/5 - not the greatest cookie every, but a good cookie none the less.

The Nabisco company has recently introduced the Strawberry Milkshake Oreo cookie as a limited edition cookie. The "limited edition" means that they are testing the market to see how well it is received. In my opinion, it's not a very good cookie, and it should not be made permanent. However, I've looked around on the web and it seems that there are many fans out there.

The biggest strength of this cookie is that it is an extremely sweet taste. The strawberry flavor is very sweet and tastes great with a glass of milk. It's a good cookie for when you have a major sweet tooth.

This cookie does have endearing qualities. The cream truly tastes like a strawberry milkshake. Of course, the chocolate cookie taste can somewhat confuse one's tongue as he/she tries to enjoy the amazingly sweet taste of strawberries. The chocolate cookies have a good crunch, as always.

Each box (if you can call it that) holds approximately 24 cookies. Not too many. Though, the cookies are sooooo sweet in flavor that I find it hard to eat more than 3 or 4 in one sitting.

I'll try to post a photo of the box sometime soon...my camera is currently broken.
